Government of God - Dominion
I believe it is necessary to give clarification concerning the topic of the dominion mandate that the Lord had given man when He created them, and how this applies to today.
Genesis 1:26 “Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Genesis 1:27 “Then God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Dominion – Hebrew – Radah - A primitive root; to tread down, that is, subjugate; specifically to crumble off: - (come to, make to) have dominion, prevail against, reign, (bear, make to) rule, (-r, over), take.
When Adam and Eve sinned, immediately they died a spiritual death. They were estranged from God, banished from the garden of Eden where the presence of God, and the intimate fellowship with God had existed.
Satan deceived Adam and Eve causing them to sin, and by them giving heed to Satan’s treachery, the delegated dominion mandate (authority) given to man by God was displaced and transferred to Satan.
Satan has had the dominion of the earth since Adam’s sin until Jesus comes on the scene.
Satan knows Jesus is the promised Seed told to him by the Lord. Satan tries to deceive Jesus to take the dominion of the earth prematurely by tempting Him to worship him.
Matthew 4:8-9 “Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
Jesus did not comply, for He was obedient to the Father’s calling upon His life.
Luke 24:44 “Then He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”
Satan’s kingdom was dealt a tremendous blow when Jesus went to the cross and rose again on the third day. What power and authority he had, and the dominion mandate that he usurped has now been rightfully transferred to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
John 12:31 “Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.”
John 16:11 “…the ruler of this world is judged.”
Matthew 28:18 “…All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”
Even though the dominion mandate has been transferred to our Lord and Savior, Satan continues to deceive the nations. The destruction of Satan’s kingdom will come at the set time preordained by the Father in heaven.
Ephesians 2:2 “In which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.”
2 Corinthians 4:4 “Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”
As we Go into the world to preach the gospel, the enemies forces of evil are trying to prevent us from bringing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ to shine on those in darkness.
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
The Kingdom of Darkness, a governmental hierarchy, in a spiritual battle against the Kingdom of Light.
The Promise to Our Lord and Savior
Psalm 100:1 “The Lord said to my Lord, sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”
Psalm 100:2 “The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies.”
Psalm 100:3 “Your people shall be volunteers in the day of Your power; In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning, You have the dew of Your youth.”
Psalm 100:4 “The Lord has sworn and will not relent, You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”
Rule – Hebrew – Radah - A primitive root; to tread down, that is, subjugate; specifically to crumble off: - (come to, make to) have dominion, prevail against, reign, (bear, make to) rule, (-r, over), take.
Note: The Hebrew meaning for Dominion and Rule are the same.
We are to rule in the midst of our enemies.
The Government of God – The Apostolic Anointing to the Church - Delegated Authority, To Govern, Have Dominion and Rule. To push back the powers of darkness in the heavenlies for the gospel to go forth to the nations to expand the Kingdom of God.
