Government of God - Kingdom Mandate

Go!

Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Mark 16:15-16 …”Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”

Our Mandate:

  • Make Disciples of all Nations.

  • Preach the Gospel to every creature.

  • Baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

I am going to challenge you with this question.

What is the gospel (the good news) we are to preach?

Jesus is our example who showed us the way.

Mark 1:14-15 “Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

  • Jesus preached the gospel of the Kingdom.

The gospel of Jesus as our Lord and Savior is only part of the message.

The full gospel message is Jesus and the Kingdom.

Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

The Kingdom Message:

  • The Kingdom is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17)

  • The Kingdom of God is not in word but in power. (1 Corinthians 4:20)

  • The Kingdom of God is the Holy Spirit in you. (Luke 17:20-21)

  • We are kings and priests unto our God.

  • Jesus restored the Kingdom to His Ecclesia. Delegated spiritual dominion/authority of the earth.

Ambassadors of Christ

2 Corinthians 5:20 “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”

Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Ambassador – Greek – Presbeuo - to be a senior, that is, (by implication) act as a representative (figuratively preacher): - be an ambassador.

Ambassador – Merriam Webster – An official envoy, especially: a diplomatic agent of the highest rank accredited to a foreign government or sovereign as the resident representative of his or her own government or sovereign or appointed for a special and often temporary diplomatic assignment.

Food for Thought:

  • An Ambassador is the highest ranking government representative stationed in a foreign country.

  • The host country allows the Ambassador control of specific territory called an embassy, whose territory, staff and vehicles are generally afforded diplomatic immunity in the host country.

Our Mandate to Go!!  Preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and of our Lord and Savior Jesus.
